Toqui Kennedy has been licensed to practice psychology in North Carolina since 1996. Her early work as a treatment professional within the NC Department of Corrections and local mental health facilities shaped a lasting conviction: that early intervention and family support are foundational to raising emotionally healthy children — and, in turn, a healthier society.

Before founding WCPC, Toqui spent many years as a community Psychologist as well as a Parent Consultant, and Educator with Project Enlightenment, a Wake County prevention and intervention organization. In that role, she walked alongside countless families — helping parents build effective, loving discipline plans; supporting children through the stress of divorce and separation; and guiding individuals through anger, anxiety, ADHD, depression, and the everyday stressors of family life. She is also trained in EMDR therapy for trauma.

Toqui has also been instrumental in co-authoring curriculums designed to help professionals create meaningful caregiver involvement opportunities for families of preschoolers, as well as arm caregivers with information to help their children thrive. These curriculums remains in active use across the county.

At the heart of Toqui's work is a simple belief: successful families build a successful society, and she's committed to doing her part — one family at a time. She lives in Cary with her spouse and son.
